I have used some of these buttons for my little project, and now I want to make a nice case for it. I wonder how do I get, lets say those button-knobs mounted to the buttons?
Is there a special trick I should know? Or is there a kind of adapter I would have to mount between the button and the knob? .. How could this be done?
You'll see it's quite different from the tactile switch you want to use it with. That's not to say you couldn't get it working but it will probably involve getting creative with some glue. I have seen keycaps made for that style of tactile switch that will fit over the button or sometimes you'll see enclosures set up so that the keycap is sandwiched in between the enclosure and the tactile switch and kept from falling out by a flange.
The ones I have experience with have a square button on the tactile switch and the keycap snaps on over it very securely:
You can get them cheap on eBay, etc. They also are available in a round shape.
I'd do a search for tactile cap, if you buy the caps and switches separately make sure you get the right match. For light up ones search for tactile led or tactile illuminated.
