Putting pressure pad (/big size capacitor) in a metal box

Hi, we are building this pressure pad sized around 20x15cm which is two conductive plates which close the circuit when they are touching (pressed).

Since it works like a capacitor and stores some energy is it safe to put the pad in a metal box? no conductive parts will touch the metal since, as seen on the attahced pic, the condctive foil is protected from with wood or cardboard.

Oh, and power supply is 5V 60A.

Before you put the thing in a box, are you using aluminum foil?

If so, how are you attaching the wires to the foil? Looks to be tape. Do you recall all aluminum exposed to oxygen has aluminum oxide on the surface. And that is an excellent insulator. Check the connection with an Ohmmeter using sharp pointed probes.

Since it works like a capacitor and stores some energy

A very small capacitor, probably Pico Farads, the energy stored is insignificant.
