Question about running an arduino 24/7

Hello everyone.

Recently, I created a project using an Arduino Lilypad. The Circuit is pretty simple, it consists of:

  • 1 arduino lilypad
  • 15 leds + 1k resistors
  • 1 push button
  • 1 10k potentiometer
  • 1 ky 037 sound sensor
  • 1 ftdi usb to ttl.

Here is an image of the circuit and an picture of the resulting project:

circuit (its connected to my pc or an usb charger via the FTDI usb to ttl):

result:

The project has a lot of modes: blinking leds based on sound, blinking randomly, keep all leds on, etc.

My question is: If I keep it on 24/7, will I have any problem related to too much current or overheating or any other problem?

thank you!!

Very unlikely. That should run for years.

Many here have Arduino projects running 24/7.

I have 17 Arduinos running, plus many ESP32s.

I like the perf-board flower!

I lost count, but same same here. Many microprocessors, quite a few of them Arduino boards and all with a few other things hanging off them, operating 24/7 for years no problems.

The only thing that has happened is the discovery of rare-circumstances software defects... there's someone near me now who has heard me say "that's impossible" when I am told about some odd behaviour. It's kinda a joke now, and I have come to accept that the impossible isn't always.

That's a fine project. Looks like it will run for a very long time.
