The reason I'm on this forum is because I don't know, and I want to learn. Instead of being disrespectful, it would be very nice to give me advice, or somewhere to get knowledge. I've helped out others on this forum on programming questions that seem quite self explanatory to me, but I understand that everyone is wanting to get better and is on their own level. I'd say either be respectful or don't post at all.

And there is no suggestion in the datasheet that there are load capictors built in. And if there were, with no ground connection on the crystal, how could you connect them ?

I was looking at the ATMega328p datasheet and it had a section on connecting an oscillator and said 12 to 22pF recommend for 8-16MHz. Should I be worried about overloading the crystal or something like that. Or would 12pF be a good capacitance?
Edit: the datasheet of the crystal I want to use says 20pF load capacitance. According to the MCU datasheet, this should include pin capacitances, stray capacitances, and the external load capacitance. Is this correct?
Yes, the data sheet is correct. Of course. Why would you doubt it?
Also have a look around at some different CPU crystal circuits. You should see what's going on very quickly.
I wasn't doubting the datasheet, I just wasn't sure if the crystal I'm using would have a problem with that.

Typical values for capacitors for those kind of xtal are 15-20pF. If you're not sure, use 18pF.
Far, far more important is how you lay it out.
There is no fast track to understanding this subject, and there is not enough bandwidth in a forum to fully explain it here.
Microchip does publish application guides, I think there is one about on chip oscillators, if not, many other manufacturers do and you can apply the same ideas.
