RPM measuring using proximity sensor

Hi,
I need to install one RPM Display for my machine. Can anyone help me to do this project.

RPM need to display ( display size 200 mm X 300 mm)

RPM cout signal is proximity sensor.

This is not a free code writing service. If you want somebody to do your work for you, we have a Category=Community with sub-category=Jobs and Paid Consultancy

Have you selected a board and a display yet?

You can also use an infrared sensor

Your smartphone has the capability to be a tachometer as a spectrum analyzer.

Hi, @kranthi88
Welcome to the forum.

Can you please post data/specs of your sensor?
What model Arduino are you using?

Thanks.. Tom... :+1: :coffee: :australia:

Count the pulses from a (appropriately chosen) sensor in unit time to determine RPM. Apply a smoothing algorithm to the results to minimise visible jitter.
Start by writing "Hello World" to your display then attempt to detect pulses from your sensor as the machine turns.
In principle it is a quite straightforward project.

Are you going to sell the millions of proximity sensors that come out of the signal?

Hi Jim,
i didnt select.

can you please help me to select the board, code and display (display should be 300mm X 150mm minimum)

That is a big display, most used with Arduinos are much much smaller.
Not sure I could recommend anything.

Well, if you displaying RPM only (let's say max 5 digits) then maybe a simple LED display would suit. Have a look at this current thread:

Hi, @kranthi88

What machine?
What environment?

Thanks.. Tom. :+1: :coffee: :australia:

Hi Tom,
Its printing machine, need to fix one proximity sensor for small bolt. based on the proximity signal speed should be display.

thats the project.

Hi,
What is the proximity sensor, part number?
Can you please post a link to data/spec?

Is it an inductive sensor?

What is the speed range.

Google;

arduino tacho

There are many, many designs, just look for the simplest ones that use readily available parts.

Do you really need a display that big?
