Sanyo Denki Step Syn

Hi all,

At first, im a complete newbie...
I just tried some tests with a uno and it worked real fine. I did the tests with small stepper motors and the fitting boards. Now i recieved 7 stepper motors from a customer for "playing". The motors are from Sanyo Denki Step Sync. Is it possi le to run them with a uno and if with wich hardware? Im sorry for the question but i dont want to throw them in the waste. Maybe you can help me. Thanks a lot for every answer:)

A link to the technical specs of the motors would be better than a picture...

That is an uncommon (these days), low impedance, unipolar motor. You can buy the appropriate motor driver from Sanyo Denki.

To determine whether it can be used with a standard bipolar stepper driver will require careful study of the data sheet:

Personally, I think it would be a waste of time.

Thanks for that unbelievable fast answer. Oke Shit so Ill kick the Steppers....

According to the data sheet I linked, that motor has been replaced by the SM2563C30U41

A wiring diagram is shown for the replacement, which suggests that you can use the motor as bipolar, if you use only leads (2,3) and (4,5) for the two windings. You would have to verify the connections with a multimeter.

Pololu has the best collection of bipolar stepper drivers, and excellent instructions on how to use them.
