SD card as soldered IC

Guys, i`m trying to save space on my pcb and instead of using micro sd slot i would like to replace it with something like 8soic packeg or similar.
does any one came across with such idea??
thanks for info

Not unless you're storing a small enough amount of data that an EEPROM would be appropriate (but a 1mbit EEPROM costs more than a 4GByte uSD)

Or an FRAM memory chip.
SRAM write speeds, way higher # of writes/address compared to EEPROM

FRAM is so nice - fast (over SPI), none of that page write garbage either. But it's eye-wateringly expensive :frowning:

Really? How much memory do you need?
