I need to ask how much voltage i can provide to sensor shield externally?

Since you are using motors, and they appear to be the problem, you will probably be better off using a motor shield than a sensor shield, as it is designed for this purpose.

Hi Unfortunately there is no standard for Sensor Shield numbers!
If the shield you have is like this, you can power the 3-pin connectors separately:

See the lower left blue connectors for external power connection. MOVE the jumper to activate that.
