Hello everyone!
Yesterday i purchased a dash and speedo from an E36. I ordered an Arduino Uno to wire it all up. I have 1 concern though. The cluster i bought is from a diesel E36. Does that mean that the wiring has to be done differently and does it mean the Simhub config will have to be different? any help would be amazing
how is that an Introductory Tutorial???
why are you double posting ???
Hello, do yourself a favour and please read How to get the best out of this forum and modify your post accordingly (including code tags and necessary documentation for your ask).
Merged with the other post + moved to Project Guidance
I think the only way to find out is to look at the service manual for the Gas and Diesel version of the car to see if the connectors to the instrument cluster are labeled differently.
What about the sim software for the uno itself? will there be any issues if you know
You have a better chance of receiving an answer by posting to the Simhub forum.
Anyways, the best way to find if there is any difference between gas cluster and diesel cluster is... to experiment!
If you don't find information online, it is very possible gas and diesel are identical and only their software coding differs (but don't take my word for it )
Wire it like it is explained in the tutorials and don't worry too much about mistakes, car instrument clusters are designed to be resilient to short-circuits and the like. Worst case scenario you damage your Arduino =))
Happy tinkering!
Would the config i get from the video work on my cluster if its for a petrol one? Any ideas
not many people on the Arduino forum know enough about this subject, I told you where you should ask your questions...
stop stressing about it, when you have your Arduino just follow that video tutorial
if it doesn't work, come back here ;))
Alright, Thank you very much
