Dupont Connector Crimping This was covered a while back and is now duplicated here. My favourite crimper is: Platinum Tools 16801C Open Barrel Contact Crimp Tool Clamshell [image] [1] [2] These are what I use with percentage of times I use them: [3] First crimp the conductor [4] Finally crimp the insulation [5] You might have to remove some insulation with flush nippy cutters and tune the crimp shape with needle nose. The Platinum Tools 16801C Open Barrel Contact Crimp Tool Clamshell IMO is the best. ≈ $30.00 When using the 16801C, after crimping the "insulation" on the largest size, I finish with a very light final crimp on the smallest size. Double over the conductors on 26 and 28 AWG wires. I mostly use silicone insulation wire with high strand count; 28 AWG has sixteen 40AWG strands. [128x128 serial display] Breadboard friendly display module based around the AT Mega4809 (as used in Nano Every). Shown is the serial display, which is displaying millis from a Nano Every. Also can show serial data as hex. There are 8 digital inputs, which can be displayed as simulated LEDs or a simple trace like a logic analyser. Convert a Stand-Off from One Thread Type to Another If you have a selection of threaded brass inserts, use these to modify an existing stand-off thread. The following images show the easy process. Simply compress the brass insert into the stand-off hole. You may have to enlarge the hole to accept the brass insert. You can also heat insert using a soldering iron. Solder Paste Dispensing Tool It can be difficult to get: repeatable, small drops, and accurately placed solder paste onto your SMD pads. You can make an effective hand tool to deposit solder paste on the pads. An inexpensive, stainless steel pair of food tongs can be modified to make this tool. Tongs cost about $15.00 (unmodified). Your choice of tongs should have the side walls at 90 degrees to the tong grips. The images below show what needs to be modified and the results you can get.
