Solder USB-C Plug to USB Cable / Arduino UNO?

Hi there,

i am not quite sure if thats the right place to ask, but maybe someone can help me with this:

i have ripped the USB connector from a Arduino UNO. Great - i thought and found a USB-C connector with solder pins, and tried to solder cable + plug directly to the Arduino UNO Board. The issue i am havingis, that just nothing happenes.

I am suspecting that the plug itself is the problem. can someone tell me if this plug can be used for this? I have read, that there are differences between master / slave plugs?

i have connected +5 GND, D+ and D-.

Thanks a lot for help!

Without going out to the shop to confirm, but, I think my UNO and all my NANO boards have USB type "B" connectors. Have they now changed to "C" type connectors?

Please post a close, in focus piture of your soldred wires.

That is very difficult to do. I would imagine that you have also damaged the board and have ripped up PCB traces. I think the trash is the best place for that board.

Just a picture of the UNOI would probably help already.
