If you use the internal pull-up resistor of the 328P ( pinMode(yourPin, INPUT_PULLUP) ) you (in general) don't need that resistor.

- I don’t think you will be happy with a solderless connector.
Instead, solder a 3 pin male connector (JST connectors are good) to the strip, a female JST goes to the Arduino.
I tried using solderless, plastic "clip-on" connectors... I could not get them to work. The LED strip pads would fold or lift or break and the clip would slide off or bend. Connections would not last for me. Others have had better success. Best is to solder.
