[SOLVED] 4 channel 5V relay external power supply

Hello, a electronics newbie here.
I am trying to feed a 4-channel 5V relay module with a 5V/1A AC/DC adapter, but the module does not work. I also tested using a cell phone charger and had the same result. I found other topics that said that I should connect the module's GND to the AC/DC adapter GND and to the Arduino's GND, but also without success. What could I be doing wrong?

My setup:
Arduino UNO R3
W5100 Ethernet Shield
4-channel 5V relay
5V AC/DC Adapter

• AC INPUT 100-240V 50/60Hz
• DC 5V 1A OUTPUT

Thanks LarryD, works like a charm! I hadn't realized that I should connect the Arduino's 5V to the module's VCC
