[solved] Arduino UNO "This device cannot start (Code 10)" at hardware manager

Hi everyone!

My problem is that I cant connect my Arduino UNO R3 (Funduino) via USB to my PC.

It worked well for the last few days but today i received after I wanted to upload a error that it is not connected. So I searched for the correct driver at the hardware manager, which I found after a longer time because all tutorials on the internet not worked for my problem. Then I got an error message "This device cannot start (Code 10)". And at this point I have no idea what i can do next to fix that.

I hope somebody can help me.

Thanks in advance,
Fabian

I'm getting this same problem. I don't know how to fix it... I've tried everything I can think of :frowning:

its driver issue not arduino problem. You need to update USB2.0 driver for your chipset.

Somehow i have attached driver file below unzip the folder & try to install driver manually in port section.

drivers.zip (1.19 MB)

As I wanted to install the driver you attached I saw that my arduino was detected as the old COM3 Port of the last days and it is working fine. I dont know how that happend but I am happy that my problem is solved.

I have tried manually installing the driver by hitting "update driver software..." and doing various things, still no luck.

just download USB 2.0 for your motherboard.
It must solve issue.

This topic has fallen by the wayside, but here is a slightly different cut.

I too had a problem where Windows 7 STOPPED talking to the Arduino UNO and complained in Device Manager.

I reloaded and rebooted everything in sight, no joy. Used a different USB port, different cable, nada.

I then read this topic where someone suggested trying a different PC.

So I did, on an old XP laptop, and the Arduino worked.

I then brought the Arduino back to the first PC, where it wasn't working, and Lo! and Behold, it is working again on the Windows 7 machine.

This tells me that something odd happened to the Arduino, and nothing to do with Windows, hardware, cables etc.

I hope this note will help someone out there (a) to fix their Arduino and (b) that the Arduino folk might debug whatever it is that upsets the Arduino.

Because I do not seem to be the only one getting into this bind.
