hi all
I am new to arduino boards.
I have followed every instruction to install my arduino uno R3(original board) on my old pc with wins xp
tried older version and the 1.0.6
hooked it up to diff usb ports
changed the printer cable
there is still a yellow question mark beside my device (arduino uno r 3)
i can see it in device manager
also tried to hit 'upgrade software' and reinstalled the driver
but it is still not working
the pwr green led is on and the led on pin 13 is blinking
but my pc says
'windows cannot initalise the hardware for the driver (code 37)'
I looked for the solutions and followed them step by step
but the same thing is still happening
If anyone knows how to solve this problem, please guide me
Thanks so much
WinXP should see the device in Device Manager as unknown at least just after connection. If not then try another cable at first, computer etc. Power LED should be ON and L on pin 13 should blink in second interval. This is preloaded sketch by default on UNO R3.
thanks for your reply
i have tried diff printer cables
reinstall the ide again and again
but my pc still says
'windows cannot initalise the hardware for the driver (code 37)'
um...
What is in XP's Device Manager (Ports or Other devices).
Thanks again, pal.
my wins xp is Chinese
I do not think you know what it says even I show you a screenshot
but as soon as i plug in my original arduino uno R3
my wins asks me to install the driver
but at the end of the process
it says
'wins cannot initialise the hardware's driver... code 37"
i connected the board with a printer cable to one usb port at the back of my system
( I have tried diff usb ports but the problem persists)
note: at the back of my pc there are four usb ports ( I am using just one of them for arduino)
in the front of my system case there are two usb ports
i am using just one for my wireless mouse/keyboard set
that's it
Thanks
Hello again,
finally you've posted what I expected. Yes, I don't understand Chinese but from the screenshot is clear to me that driver is installed and the problem could be in OS. After short googling I found that Code 37 is probably related to corrupted OS. According this, there is high probability of infected OS by malware or virus or corrupted registry. You have to repair XP first and reinstall driver after. I hope that it could help.
Thanks so much for your help.
Since my pc is very old and i have lost my wins xp cd
i am going to buy a new pc and try it again
Thanks a lot for your help again
