Hi all,
I have a new Arduino uno board and have connected the USB and followed all installation instructions but the driver is not recognosed by windows. I have tried installing the new driver patch dpinst-x86.exe but again this doesnt find a driver. I tried unzipping allthe old drivers to find the uno one (which was there) but it still didnt recognise it. I tried the troubleshooting runonce patch but that already existed so this isnt the problem. I have read through every solution I can find online and there seems to be no valid solution. This should be the easiest part of using this hardware but seems to be the hardest. Does anyone have any other solution or should I pack this back up and take back to the store???
Have you got a link to the board you bought? (So that the serial to USB chip can be checked).
Hi Keeperman, I think I have same trouble than yours, on XP, as I 've found on the net, the usb driver is not recognized sometime ... I do not have any solution actually. Did you find one ?
Any solution guys ?
HW : Arduino uno R3 - SW :XP sp3 & IDE :CodeBlocks Arduino
Country : France (sorry for my English...)
Post a link to where you got the board from. That way we can make sure you have the correct drivers.
Hi all,
The hardware (UNO R3) is from a French retailer shop : Semageek, it seems to be a genuine Arduino retailer (not from china "copy shop").
Does any one of you use XP or W7 ?
will I need to install W7 ? I 'm not sure it will fix it !!
Thanks
From today I can say that W7 do not fixed the problem.
still out of order ... Same message at driver installation.
The problem seems do be the board itself. It's a brand new !
should I go to the "China shop" to find good working board? What a pity !!
Post a link to where the board came from, as that will allow people to advise on what drivers you actually need. You can install what you like, but until the correct drivers are loaded it will not work.
Well I use xp in a virtualbox and there are the following steps helpful
- insert the usb board cable to the usb
- in the vobox computer settings under usb, there is to select the arduino usb device
- start the virtual xp
- extract the old arduino drivers in a new directory, example: c:\windrivers
- after some time the new hardware assistent shoud appear
or in xp in settings system device manager you select unkown usb device, actualize driver - take the manual search and select your new created directory with the extracted drivers
- follow the installation and accept the new device settings.
Thats all and have a nice day
