The problem during the use of an electric soldering iron

Recently, I have deeply felt that the soldering iron always has a wire attached to it, which is quite bothersome to me. What do you all think?

The alternative would be a heavy battery, which would make the iron unbalanced in the hand, and have only a short life between recharges.

You can get a battery powered one or a rechargeable one but you will find they don’t last very long. They are really only good for quick fixes instead of big projects.

Well, with it disconnected from the power, cut the attached wire, it should be less bothersome then.

There are small lighter gas powered soldering irons, they can be quite poweful.

Real old school solution.
Have seen some soldering irons that required external heat.
They were heated in a fire pit, no cord needed.

Made a flour scoop with one in shop class circa '67.

The ones I had seen were for lead work on car bodies.
I rather do enjoy my Weller with fine tip.

Butane Soldering Iron

Did I understand correctly that you feel a small current discharge when you pick up the soldering iron? If so, then you MUST NOT USE such a soldering iron, it's faulty

Does it bother you that the TV and the toaster have wires attached?
