Timer module for solenoid valve

I want to make an automatic drip irrigation system in my garden to water my plants at set intervals on a loop and I saw two modules that can help achieve this system. One is with a sugar cube relay and another is with dual Mosfet. I don't know which module to choose. Please advice to help me select the ideal module.

Relay timer module : HCW-M421
Mosfet timer module : HW-0516

Solenoid valve is 12v DC 1 amps. 1/2 inch thread Normally Closed. I heard somewhere that such valve require flyback snubber diode to protect the circuit. Do both modules require this such diode?

Have you ever controlled water with electricity?

Low-power relay modules allow you to control high-powered devices.

@Noobian
Please post the datasheets for the two modules

Datasheet

HCW-M421

Songle sugar cube relay

HW-0516

AOD4184A Mosfet

Can't read the HW-0516 manual.
Please post the pdf

That site doesn't allow downloading pdf. I can snip the specifications.

Here's another site that gives specs.

Either module will work but I would the MOSFET version.
Yes you need a flyback diode. A common 1N4007 will be OK

Thanks. I guess MOSFET option is good although it's pricier (1.2$ vs 2.5$) but the advantage is that no moving parts. Some of my cheap relays had a tendency to jammed/stuck previously.

That is a common complaint on the forum with many of the relay modules that use cheap relays.

Have fun!
