Too many boards!

I have a bunch of standalone arduino chips that I want to program, but I have so many board in the "boards" menu that my laptop can't display them all! Is there any way to scroll down so I can select other boards?

You could edit your copy of boards.txt to
/*
comment out
*/
some of the older boards:
Duemilanove
Arduino NG

and boards you are not likely to use:
Lilypad
the 168 based boards

Or make a back up copy of boards.txt, and just delete the unused boards.

Thanks! Didn't know I could do that.

Oooh. File is little texty to safely comment stuff out.

No its not. Just use the multi-line comment
/*
and take out
whole sections
*/

http://arduino.cc/forum/index.php/topic,118440.0.html ← you can have an scrollable menu for your boards :roll_eyes:

CrossRoads:
No its not. Just use the multi-line comment
/*

whole sections
*/

I don't think that works on boards.txt it looks like hash (#) is remark character
