Install a portable version of the Arduino IDE that is completely independent of the other Arduino IDE:
This is the download link
Arduino-IDE 1.8.19 als ZIP-File

Extract the zip file into a folder of your choice.
I'm now posting screenshots as the ZIP file

Unzip the zip-file into this folder
image
change to sub-directory

it should look like this

in subfolder

create a sub-folder portable

The name has to be exact portable

Now the folder looks like this

here you do a double-click on

Aren't oficial instructions from the creators of Arduino enough?

No they are not. I had difficulties to follow these instructions. Not enough screenshots
and mutiple things stayed unclear

example
quoting "Open the extracted folder and in its root create a new directory called portable , alongside the others;"

what exact is the root-folder can be said clearer
what other folders? Why aren't they listed up with their names?
etc. etc.

What kind of screenshots?
Do you think that four screenshots of the same filename string make the tutorial more informative?

Indeed. Yes I think my tutorial is easier to follow.
You don't have to link to this tutorial. If you think my tutorial will confuse newcomers just don't link to it. You would have to write very good arguments to make me modify or delete it.
