hello guys,
i have an ultrasonic sensor which i bough last year for 20$ with 3 pins: + OUT -
and now while checking some tutorials on youtube, i see that all the sensor used have 4 pins, echo and trigger, and their price is around 2.7$
AWOL:
Ping))) (sp?) sensors have only three pins, don't they?
well yea i was searching and i found that its name is Ping sensor
but is there any difference between the ping and ultrasonic i mean other than the range, any new characteristic that can be found in the ping sensor that is not in the ultrasonic ?

3 or 4 pins sensor are the same except that 3 pins sensor share Trig and Echo signals on the same pin.
yes, the advantage of 3 pin is that you can use many sensor it's won't consume as many as when you have 4 pins, but problem is it's expensive 16$ according to the 4 pins which is just 2.7$
In France we say " On ne peut pas avoir le beurre et l'argent du beurre "
Approximative translation : you can not have simultaneously the butter and the money to buy the butter.
The 3 pins model is new so it is expensive.
Wait a few months or a few weeks and it will cost less.

I think the equivalent English aphorism is "You can't have your cake and eat it", which is also clearly nonsense.

hahaha no i don't think so, maybe a little bit less but not way less, last year i got it for 20$, this year it's 16 not bad
