Unable to use ESP8266 module with Arduino due to disappearing of COM port

Hi There!

I have recently bought an ESP8266 Wifi module from -

I have tried communicating to ESP8266 through AT command by using Arduino as a bridge with the help of this article -

My PIN connection was -

ESP8266 | Arduino
Rx | Rx
Tx | Tx
Vcc | 3.3V
Gnd | Arduini gnd
CH_PD | 3.3V

The problem occurs when I connect CH_PD with 3.3V, After connecting CH_PD to 3.3V, The COM Port where Arduino was showing was no longer showing. When I disconnect the CH_PD from 3.3V , COM port was showing but I was not able to communicate to ESP8266 via AT command.

Please help as I need it urgently for my project.

That sounds like your circuit is somehow drawing too much current and shutting down the Due. I would check the wiring over very carefully before doing that again as that sort of thing could damage your board.

Which port on the Due do you have connected to your computer?
