Using Nema 23 Stepper Motors in Large Robotic Arms

Hello everybody

I am trying to build a large robotic arm with Arduino.

For this purpose I want to use several Nema 23 stepper motors.

It seems as if the MA860H Microstep driver module would work for one stepper motor.

Would it be possible to use one driver module for multiple stepper motors and which driver module would be suitable? How much would such robotic arm be able to hold in kg and use in terms of power?

No.

How much would such robotic arm be able to hold in kg and use in terms of power?

That depends on the design of the robot arm, which in turn depends on your requirements, and the characteristics of the motors you select, which must also meet those requirements. NEMA 23 specifies only the size of the motor mounting plate.

I see no mention of safety in your arm description. What will happen when a simple power failure occurs?

Hey @Paul_KD7HB, it is just a hobby project and not anything that will be used in production.
