Hi,
I'm working on car counter system project.
There are different methods for using certain type of sensors to count the cars:
First: I've thought of using ultrasonic sensors, but I think it will cause unwanted counting events of people walking by the sensors.
I can program the Arduino to only count an event if both ultrasonic sensors are active meaning there's a car, but also I thought of the possibility that if a group of people are walking and triggered both sensors.
Like this:
Second: That's why I'm thinking of using vehicle inductive-loop system, I know it's more difficult to install than the ultrasonic sensors because it requires to dive a bit in the asphalt.
Or maybe put them and spill some Bitumen or just put the coils and put some asphalt layer on them instead of cutting in the old ground.
So I thought of using vehicle inductive-loop sensors, I've found some models on Aliexpress.
And since I'm using Arduino, the modules on Aliexpress aren't suppose to provide output signals so I can read them with the Arduino, it's just module to run on its own.
Third: There are other sensors I've found like this one:
I want to know what is the kind of sensor they're using in the product ? It has a good feature to detect cars and not people.
Forth: There are other inductive sensors on Aliexpress; like this one:
Can I mount these like the ultrasonic one ? therefore, have easier installation process than inductive loop one ?
Finally: I think the most efficient one and has less error encounters is the inductive loop coils.
I learned couple things about how DIY like using 18 AWG wires with certain specifications to get the right results.
But I want before purchasing one set with the electronic board that works to detect and filter the current coming from coils.
Can anyone point me to some good value products for inductive loop system ?
