visualization problem on arduino 1.0.5 r-2 on Windows 8.1

Hi everybody

I`ve moved to W8.1 and i´ve instaled my arduino IDE, but there´s something strange, th window is really too small. I´supossing this has a simple soluttion but i have gotten tired of falling to solve it.
The program works fine, but mmm you need to see the attached image to believe me and fid out my real problem :-![

I´ve uninstalled it but nothing happens; where can i modiffy these values?

I´m guessing W8 compatibility is the problem

Thanks for your time

Looks the same as mine on Arch Linux... the button to the left of the X in the top right hand corner maximises the display whilst you can just drag it bigger otherwise...

It will be a screen resolution issue.

If you change your resolution properties it will open larger, but it will defeat the point of having a 1080+ screen that most new computers have.

As already stated just maximise the window after start up or drag it to you preferred viewing size.

well you both are right, i have a new monitor with 1080 resolution  , but on these time it wasn`t the cause, ive chaged it to even 720 but the screen remains the same :slightly_frowning_face: , i also tried maximizing the screen but... i got these:

Do you have any other idea? :slightly_frowning_face: :slightly_frowning_face: :slightly_frowning_face:

OK... the program window is now big, and I seem to be able to read the code.

I am now a little lost as to what the problem actually is now?

The problem is: well the window can be expanded, but the letter size is not big enough to read it  ; i mean the letter is really small for my screen :frowning: .

As i was saying, this should have a very simple solution, but i can´t find it  ; i´ve uninstalled Arduino, i´ve changed the resolution, but the letter size remain the same.

There is no way i can work with these hobbit size letter :-*

Ah. What is the letter size like in other programs?

It may be a display setting thing, perhaps you have got small text or icons selected.

For the font size settings go to File-> Preferences -> Editor font size. Default is 12. Write what you think is enough and restart arduino IDE.

It requires to restart the program to see the new font size.

Hi, i thankyou everybody for your time and knowledge

Well, when i first started to use my lap with 8.1 many windows showed really small, but i solved it changing it on visualisation options, on control panel; but arduino (and also proteus  ) where the unique programs that remain very small.

blfuentes`s solution finally worked (File-> Preferences -> Editor font size), well at least now i can read the code without having to have my face 3 inches in front the screen :-* ;D

Have a nice day :grinning:
Thankyou again
