The below circuit diagram shows a 5V LCD with its Rx and Tx connections made to 3.3V ESP32 board without any level shifters. Is this ok?
What is the model of your display? Have you a link?
This is my display.
According to datasheet, logical voltage of the display RX Tx connections are 3.3v
