As you can see now, there is already the first new design in the forum. What do you think? Is the changeover difficult for you? Let's discuss about it!

What you can do with the new menu

  • Double-click on Person icon: Profile overview
  • Tap on bell icon: Shows all notifications without likes and links
  • New Tap on arrow icon: Show all activity
  • New Tap on letter icon: Displays the latest messages
  • New Other notification: Displays edits, moves, links, solutions, and new signs.
  • Tap on bookmarks: Displays the bookmarks

NEW: Unlike the old menu.

There is a problem with the new design on mobile devices. Here is a screenshot on my PC:

Here is the same thing on my mobile phone:

Note that the top item on the list is almost completely hidden, the first visible item is the second item on the list.

This is with Android and Chrome browser. I get the same thing on my tablet, which is Android with Firefox browser.

(If I have to move this category to Bar Sport, you can just tell me)

To the new menu. Is that not there for you yet?

I have a lot of menus on this machine which one is this? It appears to come from the Arduino IDE, if so what revision and version. The menu will not open up in another window so I can read it.

Now this has nothing to do with Arduino IDE....

Thanks for raising this subject for discussion @cloudDev. The menu change occurred automatically as part of an update to the forum's Discourse forum framework:

It is possible to change the forum settings to switch back to the old style of notification menu:

However, it looks like the new menu style will become mandatory in the near future:

Similarly, if you’d like to revert to the old menu after this automatic change, you can do that by disabling “enable new notifications menu”. This will only work in the short term - we aim to totally remove the old notifications menu by the end of April.

So I think it is probably best to make the switch now so we get user testing while we still have the option to provisionally revert to the old menu style if problems are discovered.

We had the new notification menu style enabled during all the recent testing and experimentation on the "staging site" forum, so we do already have some confidence that the change won't introduce any problems.

But I think I can't change the menu.... For me it does not show the option.

It is not a user option. It is a site-wide option that can only be changed by an administrator.

I like the new user menu, much easier to access things.

I had the same issue. A silent human seems to have resolved the issue.

Where are we with the whole thing ?

Noticed India forum is empty but the section is still available ?
Like the little side bar but in dark mode the notification colour is a little too dark.
