Where did the “Show verbose output during: compilation” go?

My sketch is stuck on "uploading...".

Several people on the forum have recommended to do this to fix the issue:

1. (In the Arduino IDE) File > Preferences.
2. Uncheck the checkbox next to “Show verbose output during: compilation”
3. Check the checkbox next to "Show verbose output during: upload.
4. Click “OK”
5. Sketch > Upload.

What Arduino?
Have you tried a full computer restart?

You might be onto something ausgelachtxr. I am trying to upload to an ESP32. How do I select a device in ide?

Thank You cattledog. I did that and it worked. Now back to my original question though. Where did the “Show verbose output during: compilation” go? It is not on the preferences panel and yet there are several references to it.

Your should see this under preferences. Do you see the two selections for show verbose output.
