WRONG, CP2102 is ok, CH340 is NOT. See new post- Mac M3 missing CP2102 driver

All of a sudden my M3 Mac can't talk to any board with a CP2102 (ESP). The only version of the driver I can find is for Intel X86, I need Mac Silicon. I suspect a Mac update somehow made the old driver invalid. I just checked, and the System Report says the driver is installed, but it is not working. The only port I have is cu.debug-console plus Bluetooth. Everything is fine with the other chip FT232.

ARGH, my USB tester from Poland finally paid for itself, the cable was only power.
However, now I have 2 additional ports, a SLABS and a generic USB. See pic.
both the SLAB and the generic USB work, I tested.

I was premature. The driver I can download is for X86 architecture, NOT Mac Silicone. Somehow I 'lost' the driver and now can't find the right one.

Your topic does not seem to indicate a problem with IDE 2.x and therefore has been moved to a more suitable location on the forum.

You are right, I don't know why it was there.

This entire post was in error but I can't delete it. Different driver different symptoms.

Is it solved?

Others can learn from it.

I read somewhere it can be related to the Hub you're using.

Not solved. I had mixed up the drivers. The driver this post was about is NOT the driver giving me a problem, the problem driver was the CH340. That is why I wanted to delete this entire post as it is extremely misleading. Now I need to start a new post since I still have a problem with the CH340 driver. What do you suggest, this post is a mess.

I do not know what wisdom is in this case.

If it was me, I would probably leave a note in the opening post hat there was a mistake and referring to post #9.

Just let it pass. Most people will understand it's an honest mistake. :hibiscus:
