125khz RFID Reader

ive been looking for different readers that will read 134.2khz but cost too much, but i have found this one (Seeedstudio 125KHz RFID Module - UART - RobotShop) which says it can read 134.2khz but im not entirely sure. i have a reader that reads 125khz but it doesn't read 134.2khz. does anyone know if it will work alright or could lead me to somewhere where i can find a cheap reader module? thanks

Their site says it reads 134.2 kHz but it only says it one place and as such could be misleading; I'm not sure to be honest.

I did find the same part on eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/UART-125Khz-EM4100-RFID-Card-Key-ID-Reader-Module-RDM6300-RDM630-For-Arduino-/171010546555?_trksid=p2054897.l4275

It also specifies in the details that it reads 134.2kHz RFID tags. Again only in one place, so it's still a little sketchy. But that is probably just the price you pay for buying stuff cheaply. You could always buy it and just see if it works.

Alternatively you could buy an IC (http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/swrs083a/swrs083a.pdf) and a actually design a small breakout board yourself using EAGLE and have it manufactured by OshPark (I love their service, they are fast, easy, and email you promptly when stuff happens, and they are very affordable for small board sizes and quantities). Then you could solder everything up , really just the IC and some header pins probably and plug it up to a breadboard and start testing away!

Thanks for the reply, I might just go ahead and buy it, hopefully I Will get my money back if it doesn't work. I might have a look at the other option, could be quite interesting, thanks
