Arduino car exhaust sound generator

Hi everyone,
For my I have an idea to my college project (thesis) to do a sound simulation to an exhaust. For example I have an old diesel Volvo, and I want to make my tractor sounding engine to run like a american V8. The speaker will be inside of the exhaust system. When the rpm's change, then it changes the sound that is speaker making. Is this even possible with Arduino uno r3? Rmp reading will be given through OBD2. What do I need to do this project? Thank you in advance

That is a pretty destructive environment! How long do they need to last? How many replacements do you have?

Don't worry about it, the speaker will be at the end of the exhaust system, so no temperature will get to it, also it will have some protection like isolation. Practically no gasses will touch the speaker.

So, you already have a powerful amplifier and speaker system that are waiting for you to complete the Arduino part. Have you worked on reading the current engine RPM message?

Everything is just in my mind, I haven't done anything at this moment. I just want to know what do I need in materials to do this kind of thing.
My imagination:
I start my car, i press toggle switch when I want to turn on my project, the led screen lights up.
I choose what sound I want to use (V8; V12; Nissan GTR; Rotary engine (just for example)), then it generates the sound accordingly to RMP's.
I have'nt done any math with the speaker and amplifier.

I suspect you are the only person in the whole world to want to build this, so you will need to experiment and see what works and what doesn't work.

It seems so, I want to be original. I've never done anything like this, so it will be interesting for me also. I just dont know any programming stuff, how to do the sounds, how to make it work.

Sounds like you are on the right path. I have done several original, never done before stuff with IBM compatibles and Apple computers. Figure 6 to 9 months of hard work.

Do you mean make something like "thor exhaust system"
