I'm having the same issue, can't seem to figure it out. You mentioned Parallels, are you trying to run it on windows? Or on native mac?
I'm running Create Agent natively on MacOS. As I mentioned in my previous post, my issue was caused by a tool that is part of the Parallels Toolbox. With this tool you can hide the menubar icons you are less interested in.
Are you running the Create Agent on MacOS as well?
Yes I am, but it won't appear in the menu bar and according to the installer tool guide it's not installed yet just like you it shows up running on Activity Monitor.
Did you reboot your machine? You probably did…
Another thing is to uninstalling and re-installing the agent.
I've done both countless times but no luck unfortunately. Many threads on older versions of MacOS solved it by "trusting" the app in security setting but on 13.4 there doesn't seem to be an option for this
In that case you may have to log this as a bug on github
I've downloaded ArduinoCreateAgent 1.3.2 on my M1 MacBook Pro running MacOS Ventura 13.4.1, but when I click on the CreateAgent app to open it, nothing happens and no icon shows up in my menu bar. Activity Monitor shows it running but the Create Agent installation guide can't find it. I've tried restarting my computer and digging into the security settings to see if there's a permission I have to allow to be able to get it running but I've had no luck
I'm reasonably sure that this relates to the web editor and hence have moved your topic to that category.
I merged the two separate discussions of @ericwinter's Arduino Create Agent problem into a single topic.
I'm having a similar issue, I switched to Chrome, but I still have the same problem. The Create Agent is running and it shows on the top bar of the browser. When I try o associate a new device it Arduino Create Agent not found.
I'm able to compile and upload sketches to my Nano 33 IOT using the IDE V2 with no problems.
There’s a security setting in settings that says “allow apps downloaded from everywhere” that was initially hidden and disabled but even once enabling that it wouldn’t open. Only workaround I found was to create a new volume on the hard drive and boot Monterey 12.6.7. I was then able to download and open the create agent.
Hi, I am experiencing the same issue, I already have Monterey 12.6.7 on my Mac, the Create Agent would appear as running in the activity monitor but the IoT Cloud can't find it. Any solution?
I'm having the same issue. Both M1 Mac and windows the plug in says its running but isn't recognized by the web IDE.
I have the same issue. Ventura 13.4.1. Shows as running. Blacked out icon in the task bar. Reports "Arduino Create Agent Not Found"
Hi @loganduffield. Which web browser (e.g., "Google Chrome") are you using?
I am using Safari 16.6.
I was able to fix the problem. I found a solution on another thread here - Web Editor can't connect with board on Safari - #2 by dbeamonte_arduino
The procedure from that post that worked was:
- Verify that the Create Agent is running
- Open the Create Agent menu (you should have the Create Agent on the status bar).
- Click on "Generate and Install HTTPS certificates".
- Try again to ADD the device
This worked for me.
Thank you
Great work on finding the solution! Thanks for taking the time to post an update with your findings.

That worked for me too. Thank you @loganduffield!
