Arduino Mega + Ethernet Shield + RAMPS 1.6 or 1.4

Hello community,

I need to connect an Arduino Mega with RAMPS 1.6/1.4 board together an Ethernet shield in order to control the system via ethernet communication. I am using an EtherMega which is an arduino mega with ethernet based and it works fine. But it is difficult to get and i have others simple arduino mega to use for the same purpose. Is it possible to connect an arduino mega with ethernet shield and RAMPS boards?

Maybe there is a helper that has done this before. For the other helpers to reply please post links to the datasheets for the circuits/boards involved.
