Arduino not uploading

Every time i try to upload anything it gives me this error code

Please provide details; among them

  1. Which version of the IDE?
  2. Which operating system?
  3. Which board?
  4. Correct board selected?
  5. Correct port selected?
  6. Did it work in the past? If yes, what was the last project that you were working on when it started failing?
  7. Anything connected to the board? If yes, please provide a schematic / wiring diagram (photo of pen/pencil drawing is OK).

it did work in the past i don't exactly remember i think i was doing something with leds or a servo
right now a its a dc motor

Please do this:

  1. Select File > Preferences... (or Arduino IDE > Settings... for macOS users) from the Arduino IDE menus.
    The "Preferences" dialog will open.
  2. Uncheck the box next to Show verbose output during: compile in the "Preferences" dialog.
  3. Check the box next to Show verbose output during: ☐ upload.
  4. Click the "OK" button.
    The "Preferences" dialog will close.
  5. Attempt an upload, as you did before.
  6. Wait for the upload to fail.
  7. You will see an "Upload error: ..." notification at the bottom right corner of the Arduino IDE window. Click the "COPY ERROR MESSAGES" button on that notification.
  8. Open a forum reply here by clicking the "Reply" button.
  9. Click the <CODE/> icon on the post composer toolbar.
    This will add the forum's code block markup (```) to your reply to make sure the error messages are correctly formatted.
  10. Press the Ctrl+V keyboard shortcut (Command+V for macOS users).
    This will paste the error output from the upload into the code block.
  11. Move the cursor outside of the code block markup before you add any additional text to your reply.
  12. Click the "Reply" button to post the output.

Did you try with everything disconnected?

It looks like your board uses the 16U2 serial-to-usb converter (the chip closest to the USB connector). You can try the loop back test. If it fails, the 16U2 is malfunctioning.

Other test:
Press and release the rest button; does the L-LED flash quickly a couple of times? If not, the 328P is malfunctioning.

The 1st thing the loop back test im not sure if i did it right but the second part the L-Led did not flash it just stayed on. what do i do

There is not much that you can do wrong. A wire between reset and GND and a wire between Rx and Tx. Open serial monitor, type some text and it should be echoed.

Not a good sign. If the loop back test fails and the processor does not react on the reset you more than likely have done serious damage to the board.

My advise would be to buy another board.

I wonder what i did to brick it because i don't recall doing anything dangerous. but I'm new to this after all so i could have did something
