Hello, I have a project where I want to build a development board uaing the Atmega1284p I started by trying to install the bootloader on the MCU, I followed the instructions here.
I have some questions regarding this. At first should I connect every GND and VCC in the MCU or I only need to connect one VCC and one GND (Pins 5,6)?
You should connect every Vcc and GND of the microcontroller. You also need decoupling capacitors on each Vcc (they are missing in the page that you linked).
The AVCC also on pin 27 ??
Yes
Isn’t it analog vcc ??
It's the Vcc for the analogue circuit. Usually kept as much separate as possible to prevent digital noise (on Vcc) affecting the analogue circuit.
We just connect it to vcc as the other ones ??
I have added decoupling caps and still have the same error following this thread
Compiled on May 9 2022 at 17:50:20 with Arduino IDE 10818.
Attempting to enter ICSP programming mode ......................................................

Hello I'm trying to burn bootloader to Atmega1284p using Arduino as ISP, and I keep getting this error, how can I use -F to override ??
Error while burning bootloader.

avrdude: Yikes! Invalid device signature.
Double check connections and try again, or use -F to override
this check.
avrdude done. Thank you.
You don't overide that error! You connect up your chip properly for it to work.
Please show your wiring in a photo, well lit, in focus.
Can you provide a connection map
Example
UNO QFP
10 4 (With 10K pullup to 5V)
etc.
I give up, I ask you for YOUR connections, and you post a totaly unrelated image!
Hopefully you can find someone who can help, but I'm out.
this is the connection I made !!!
HOW??? Thats a totally different chip!
Yes but the same connection should work on mine
@atieh, do not cross-post again.
