Hi everyone I'm building up a button box with 4 x 4 of 3 way switch(on-on) , I'm using the arduino pro micro but, I plug the first ones to their corresponding for example A3 and 14 etc etc, but when Im requested to wire from a switch to another, everything screw up. So when I plugged everything from the board it was OK but when I started the bridges between switches it started outputting the whole column.. The switches have 3 pole how should I plug them? (maybe I've done something wrong) .... ....
.... .... < the button box
Schematics, and data for the switches, please.
Are the switches 2 position (ON - ON) or 3 (ON - OFF - ON), are they powering something or just sending signals to Arduino?
If you are wiring switches in a matrix and more than two will be on at any one time, you will need diodes in series with each switch.
Ok I'll be re-writing the schemas, also they are only powered by the USB, and are 2 positions ON-ON (I'm a real newbie)
Hi,
Welcome to the forum.
Please read the post at the start of any forum , entitled "How to use this Forum".
OR
http://forum.arduino.cc/index.php/topic,148850.0.html.
Then look down to item #7 about how to post your code.
It will be formatted in a scrolling window that makes it easier to read.
Can you please post a copy of your circuit, in CAD or a picture of a hand drawn circuit in jpg, png?
What is the application of you project?
Why do you need a 2pos switch with change over contacts?
Thanks.. Tom...
Hi sorry for the wrong posting, I'm sending the pic of my project, I didn't need a switch like that I just bought it and thought it would work as a normal button, but it has 3 pins and that freaks me out, I dunno what hat to do
You can use the Off and one On position and drop the second On. Then You have a simple On-Off switch. No problem.

Yes sir that's what I'm trying to do, but when I stop soldering from the board to the buttons and I solder button to button, it start to give out random values
Send us wiring and code, and please use code tags. I have an idea what can posdibly be the error.
This is all the wiring I've done so far, I'm a real newbie on this, if someone could do a better wiring scheme would be appreciated, on the right you can see where I get the error, thanks a lot, appreciate your support

Hi,
Will you have more than one switch turned ON at anytime?
From what I can see you are using 6 I/O to read 8 switches by wiring them in an row/column array, you will probably need diodes associated with each switch to enable you to identify more than one switch ON at a time.
The pin labeling of the ProMini after pin 10 is not clear, D10 then D11, D12, D13.
Can you make that clearer please?
Thanks.. Tom..

Sorry sir, but what that means :')
OP means Original Poster, thats you.
So I am saying this is your image you attached.
Tom...
Oh ok thank you, so ill post you my pro mini and buttons. And yeah I need more switches on at the same time
Hi,
Yup, Pro Micro, my mistake to say Pro Mini.
Tom..
Nobody can help me with this? I'm real noob with it
I just looked at the pictures in Your reply #15.
Are they really 3 way, On - Off - On or are they On - On? How Do You want to use them? As On - Off, connecting to center and one outer pin?

What is it You try to say? It makes no sence.
Also, write a logical wiring diagram, not any Salvador Dali showing the housing.
Why has this gone so very difficult?
"Everybody" is building buttonboxes or read plenty of buttons nowdays but not topic has turned out to be this difficult.
