Hi guys, In the internet I found many kind of emf detector designs with arduino, arduino can detect almost any kind of electronic devices radiation but it can't detect cell phone radiation, what's a problem? I know an lm386 based audio frequency emf meter can detect cellphone radiation but why arduino can't?
You need a microwave frequency detector as an input, which the Arduino can read.
See this web page for a simple loop antenna with diode detector. Works well.
Most phones are not broadcasting constantly, just bursts now and then to keep in touch with the towers, and when a call is coming in or is in progress.
Instead of unobtantium germanium diodes, the modern device is something like this: https://uk.farnell.com/broadcom-limited/hsms-2850-tr1g/diode-rf-schottky-sot-23/dp/1056849?st=hsms
"upto 50mV per microvolt at 915MHz"
Also less risk of destroying one of these by just soldering it - germanium components were
so sensitive to overheating...
