Computer not detecting device/COM port

Hi All,

having a problem with the first hurdle here!

I'm working on a project where i am using the U-Blox Nina B3.
My issue is that when i connect the device up to my laptop, it isnt being detected.
no changes in the device manager screen.
the cable works fine with my esp32, so i know that its not a cable issue.

do i need to install a specific driver, so my laptop can detect the controller?

any help appreciated!

thanks,

JR

There is also the possibility that you connect the wires wrongly, made an error in your PCB board (I don't assume you soldered the serial cable directly to the solder pads of the NINA-B3. Maybe you use a developers kit or other board that you didn't tell us. If that's the case you might see why we ask for a link to the actual product used.

thanks for the reply Pylon.
so the microcontroller is used as a standalone component on a custom board (see image).

These schematics don't show any connector so we have no clue how you connected that to the notebook.

hi Pylon,

in the link, i have the whole schematic for the board that is using the NINA B316.
ive inlcuded a snip below, showing the micro USB connection to the board.

If that's exactly the schematics of your setup and the board doesn't show up on your PC the firmware doesn't support the USB interface or the board is broken.
