Drivers not working

Using Arduino IDE 1.x

hello,

I cannot get the drivers to install. it keeps telling me there were none found that would work. I have tried the following:

Started with my arduino nano board(has an atmel Mega 328p chip)
Opened device manager, saw the usb serial with the ?, clicked update drivers, selected the arduino/driver folder. It found no suitable driver.

Switched cable
Switched usb
Changed board to an Arduino Uno

All same issue. Any suggestions?

You probably need the CH340 driver; download the zip from the Chinese manufacturer's website, unzip and run the exe.

Note:
you can probably identify the chip by right clicking the device with the question mark and selecting properties.
