Was a bad bad mistake, I accidentally broke off one of the pins right off the edge of the DHT22. There is no visible contact to solder back on. Is there any way to fix this or do I need to buy a new one?
Buy another one.
Meanwhile, you can try to open the plastic housing.
Look on this page, scroll some down and the picture on the left has a broken pin, click on the picture for a larger one:
The back of the DHT22 doesn't seem to "open-able" like the DHT11. It appears to be sealed tight. The sucker is already useless in this state anyway so I tried to scrape off the rubbery foam, then solder on stronger 2.54mm headers onto it. But the humidity sensor now isn't working properly for some reason, it either reads 1% or 99.90% all the time. A new one it is.
