I just got the fastest delivery from China :)

shipped on 9/9, delivered 9/12. This is for a mega2560 board for $11.50 with free shipping.

Now, that was fast. Must have had a tail wind all the way. LOL

Hope it works for you!

Here's one that appears not to ...

wow.. where from?

seller ebay name is hkshanhai_shop

granted I am located by left coast port of entry. I usually receive packages between 8-10 days.

About 3 months ago, I got a package from China (I live in Texas). I could see the tracking info. It got to CA, then went past TX to KY. Then it went to Florida, then to North Texas, them back to KY, and to LA, then to Texas again, but not my city. I called that PO, and they had no clue why the package was bouncing all over. I ask them to deliver it to the address on the package (mine), and it came here next. I never did figure out what happened there.

Heh. Great story, Jack.

I have been impressed with DHL. When I order stuff from ElectroDragon, I get it within 36 hours after they ship it. I don't know if that includes time differences or not. It certainly isn't free, though.

This is the auction I won. people were avoiding this because its a funduino and its not R3. lol

this is the actual item I got

and yes, it works!

So they make the board with all the Arduino marking, but say on the website where they sell it that it's Arduino compatible.
Is not that hard to change the gerbers to take off the Made in Italy and aruino.cc markings.

Probably production overrun of the boards they are secretly making for the Italians.

That board looks to have the correct fuse on it too. Not the green 5x5 fuse the fakes that I have that look the same have. Weird.

Could be green - picture is somewhat blurry.

I have a suspicion that the (three week) delay from China is to do with shipments being piled up somewhere and - for whatever reason - waiting for large scale transport.

Notwithstanding what it is marked, it clearly is not air mail.

I ordered something from china and tracking showed it sitting in US for several days.
Im in uk so i think you may be right.

Yes, 10-12 days is normal for me on the west coast. Must have met an airplane just at the right time.

Lefty

I have ordered a lot of items from china. it takes only 2 days, maybe 3 for the item to actually travel and reach San Francisco. From there, it can languish for up to a week waiting for customs and I presume homeland security folks (thanks to 9/11) to inspect, then another day to get to my local post office. Strangely enough, you can see from the tracking that on 9/11 (of all days), it passed through San Francisco inspection in one day.

People bash slow delivery from China, but in reality (at least in my experience), the delay is on the U.S. side.

got another fast delivery. just 3 business days. This item costs 99cents total!

another fast delivery experience

The fuse on the Mega makes it look official. I wonder why? ???

You know what? These days I order stuff from eBay, mainly China and Hong Kong. It usually arrives promptly, and if there is a problem (which is rare) there is no argument.

A few weeks ago I was in a hurry for something and ordered some parts from a local company (I won't name and shame them) ... they promised next day delivery. A week later when it hadn't arrived I rang up and was told there was a "computer glitch" which held it up (forever, I gather had I not rung) and it had now been "released". So the parts from a local company took somewhat longer than eBay from China.

Guess who I am buying from next time?

I had a similar issue when I bought something from a (well-known) company in Melbourne. Despite the promise of next-day delivery, it was about 8 or 9 days later (and multiple phone calls) when it arrived. One of the excuses was "it was in the shipping bay but the driver decided not to take it".
