I'm designing a board that can go in a project box that multiplexes 16 analog inputs to 1 analog pin on the Arduino. Picture of the first draft of the board attached.
In Eagle I used the Sparkfun JST polarized 3-pin through-hole connector, but I'm having a hard time finding that or something very similar on Mouser. Anyone order this kind of connector in bulk before? I need 16 per board. The point of the connector is to be able to plug in each sensor individually (VCC, GND, and IO), and then run the wires to each sensor in the rest of the box (up to a few feet away).
I could use a different kind of connector if you have a good suggestion on one. I wanted through-hole to give it more stability, polarized hopefully to make it less likely that the sensors get plugged in backwards.
I love the AMPMODU-MTE series, available at Mouser and other places. It's 0.1" pitch so it will plug into a breadboard or Arduino headers. It has a retention snap so that it won't fall out under any vibration short of a rocket launch.
Easy to crimp with the $39 crimpers at Adafruit. (Don't buy crimpers from Mouser unless you are a business.)
JST-XH connectors are cheap and easy to get, it's my go-to connector for most applications.
Don't know about Mouser specifically; never bought from them.
While they are not high quality, they are cheap enough to have a good stash on hand for small projects. Generally they can be acceptably reliable. I usually crimp and solder each wire for good measure.
