What type of connector is it ?

Hi,

Can anyone tell from the picture below what type of connector it is marked as X50A and temporarily plugged with a small JST 3-pin connector?
(PCB mounted 8 pin )

A better photo might help.

Have you gone to the JST website and searched for connectors that match this physical layout?

This one?

Looks a bit like an 8 Pin JST Socket.

Its definitely not 2.5mm pitch.

No easy answers. (yet)
It almost looks like the 2mm board to cable headers I get from JST.

You may need to research various brands to find the right plug.
Start with measuring the pitch of the connector, the pin count and the length. Go to a vendor (such as Digikey), select connectors, board to cable, single row, and the pitch of the pins.
Carefully inspect the latch slots or levers on your connector and see if you can find one in the right configuration...then the work begins!
Compare the connectors in every dimension...don't forget the pin diameters!

Thanks for the reply. Sounds like a good approach!
The problem is that the pcb is part of a ducted air condition and access is only through a small access panel on the ceiling.
Therefore its not easy to take accurate measurements..

What is the pitch on this connector?

Thats 1.25mm pitch.

No way. Looks like 2mm.

Well the 3pin connector i have was boutht from here, so its definitely 1.25.

There is of course the possibility that it doesn't fit properly on the receptacle on the PCB . As I said.. its real hard to get close to the unit to check...

I'm not buying it. Maybe the connector you put on is 1.25mm pitch, but the socket on the PCB looks like 2.0mm. The resistors are 0603 (note the value printed on) and they are very slightly shorter than the pin pitch of the socket. 0603 component length = 1.6mm.

Here's another pic

The other orange connectors are 2.54 pitch but its not easy to compare because of the angle of the photo..

Thanks. That looks like JST PH2.0

I use these sometimes.

Here's a quick snapshot in one of these in a project of mine:

Yours is angled, mine is straight. Both types are available.

Someone suggested that it is jst zhr-8.

That would mean that the pitch is 1.5mm !
That's closer to 1.25mm i tried and it makes sense that i managed to plug it in.

Yeah, that might be it.

Maybe just order one of each and see which fits?

Take a piece of kids modelling clay and get a print of that for measuring.
