Infared Remote/Detector not working?

I've bought a elegoo starter kit with a IR receiver and a remote that I've tried over and over again with different circuits, and it still doesn't work. I've followed a step by step guide but still nothing. This is the one I'm working on: Arduino IR Remote Controller Tutorial - Setup and Map Buttons - The Robotics Back-End

I used the Elegoo Starter Kit, too. Hold your IR transmitter pointing at your smart phone and turn on the camera. When the transmitter is pressed, the LED will show as a faint purple on the camera (cameras have IR filters. Also, I found the IR receivers inaccuracy at 20%... that is to say, the TX/RX will succeed once every four or five tries.

These are some pictures of the circuit

Are @carterd6676 and @cd67676 related? I hope so, because one person with multiple accounts is not following the rules.

Oh, sorry I will delete the second one. Its the one on my phone.

You can access one account from multiple devices (phone, workstation, et c.).

Ok well I saw the purple light like you showed me on my phone.

Transmitter is good! Half way there!

DroneBotWorkshop pointed out a problem with various IR Receiver Modules. Manufacturers did not follow one pin configuration, so the modules can be any permutation of GND, SIG, VCC. If the IR Receiver LED ever felt hot, then chances are the IR Receiver LED has been reverse-powered and broken.

Ok well I got burned by the IR Receiver module meaning its broke. So I guess I will have to get a new one.

Would this be a suitable replacement? https://a.co/d/7VCKMXb

I would go with plain Vishay receiver, like tsop34438 or tsop4838

Your link shows the signal pin labeled, but look for the device(s) @kmin mentions for better documentation. You want your first projects to work.
