IR Night Vision for Raspberry Pi installation into Arduino board

Hello everyone,
I have question for people that have experience with "CAMERA + NIGHT vision"

  • please, is possible in some way install (camera + night vision) for raspberry PI directly into my arduino board?¨(i am looking for low energy consuming solution powered basically only on battery)
  • if not, please exist some alternative camera + night vision directly for arduino?

Thank you very very much for any answer or advice that can works for my project for arduino.
Best regards Pavel and I wish you very nice day.

Of course it's possible. But you would not like the results. JUST WHAT IS IT YOU ARE TRYING TO DO????

I am trying modify my own security camera device/solution

  • motion camera that sending pictures
  • on 2x piece of battery 18650

My project is already finished... and works everything pretty well... But now, I need change original arduino camera for that also support night vision... and here is problem, I can buy only classic "arduino camera". I have it... And there is no another type of cameras on the market for arduino.

How do you know your current camera does not support night vision. That is using IR light, if I am not mistaken. Almost all digital cameras support IR photography.

Paul

Easy enough to find out, just put an IR light out and take some video and see if it works. You can also just take video of the IR led of a remote to see if it captures it. I do that all the time with my cellphone to see if the remote is putting out a signal or not.

Thank you very much Paul and Tom,

Please, do you know some good powerfull IR sensors that works for +/-10m distance or more? I can buy exactly same what you used.

I have tryied your idea with my cellphone + remote controler from TV and at night when I gave it to near to the wall I can see that camera can see wall... but it is maybee only +/-2 cm near to the wall..
I think in this case i need very powerfull IR sensors/IR lights.

Thank you very much again guys, you are best for this idea.

My trail camera has a set of LEDs that reach about that far. What kind of pictures are you contemplating? The LEDs would be easy to hack from a defunked camera. I have one like that, but have not look into parting it out.

Remember, the lens for visible light is not the same as for IR.

Paul

Now I am confused little bit "lens for visible light is not the same as for IR".
I have 19MP camera in the phone and I can see 2cm distance with one 1x IR from TV remote controler... I think it will be dependeny on IR.

Here is what I will try buy, i hope it will works.
