So i made a water detector project and i wondered what happens if i submerge it in a pool but first i tried with a large cup of water and everything was fine. I'm not really sure if it can handle minimum 1 minute underwater. Can you help me? Also the water sensor looks like this:
you may submerge this from the bottom until the words "water sensor". The rest must stay dry.
Do you put it in water more that once? Do you quickly dry it after removing from water. The copper traces will not have a long life if kept wet.
Yes, but remember that kind of sensor has a limited lifespan, due to traces oxidation and corrosion due to electrolysis when you put them into water (and as it's the specific purpose of the sensor, there are a few of methods to reduce the damages but you can't avoid it...
).
Just to let you better understand, this is what happens after a while (picture from an old topic):

So, we could give you more hints if you explain your needs, e.g. where are you planning to use it? You need to measure drinking water or what? What is the container material? And do you just need an alarm if over/below a specific capacity or a precise measure?
