Is there any plan to integrate language translation into this forum. It will be great if language was no longer a barrier for the exchange of Arduino know how between enthusiasts across the world.
One can of course copy and paste from posts in this forum into online free translation services which is what I a do currently.
Hi @drbthomas. I use my web browser's built-in translation capability to translate the forum content without any need for copy and paste:
Have you tried that?
When using an automatic content translation system like this, it is important to note that, although the forum now appears to be in your native language, it may not be appropriate or effective to write your posts in that language. We have dedicated forum categories for common non-English languages, for example:
When such a category is available, it is required that topics written in a non-English language be created under that category, not under the categories where English is the primary language.
In cases where there isn't a dedicated category for a language, we do allow the use of that language in the categories where English is the primary language. However, the volunteer forum helpers who are not fluent in that language may be discouraged from providing support on those topics, and so doing this may reduce the chance of getting effective assistance. So I would recommend these users to instead compose their posts in their native language, but then use a translation service to convert it to English before posting.
I do use copy/paste in cases where I need to translate my posts to another language. I don't have the need to post in other languages very often so I haven't investigated whether there is a more convenient way to accomplish this, but I would guess there is a high quality browser extension that provides the capability.
