Did you have any power source other than USB connected?

No I didn't

Did you have anything else connected to the board?

was that a real Arduino or a clone?

A clone and also a ultrasonic sensor

One of the HC-sr04 type sensors?

Hi, @divyanshundley

What model Arduino is it?
Can you please post some images of the carnage?

What were you using as a powersupply?

Thanks... Tom.. :+1: :coffee: :australia:

HC-sr04 and the Arduino was a Arduino nano

I had connected it to my laptop only

Strip everything off except the usb and see if BLINK works without getting hot. If no, time for a voltage check and new hw.
PS: your schematic just needs pin #s please

I did it and it is not recognised now it's dead

red and black wire are for 5v and gnd and yellow and green are for echo&trigger -> 3,4

Something was reversed/shorted. Get out your voltmeter and start checking. Plug just the nano in to usb and check the 5v and 3v3 pins voltages. Were you using a breadboard? Sounds like 5V and gnd might have been reversed.
Please take a pic of your hw showing all wires & bits.

yes

Show us -- closely -- ALL your physical wiring and all parts please. IN CLOSE UP! LOL we need to be able to read pins.
