Why it shown as screenshot from your desktop display??? Wouldn't it be more suitable if you post the picture itself?
Of course, but sometimes patience is needed.
My guess is they only have an eyeball vid cam, went to "live", did <prt sc> and ul'd that. Fast & blurry! LOL
I don't pave a phone and mac is not gonna allow me to do that
it seems to me the issue is that the Nano is not across the center dividing line and so you created a short between the pins on both side of the nano... is it the case ? we can't tell from the screen grab
EDIT - meant to reply to OP, not to you @madmark2150
Can you set the hw down and try to get a nice, well lit, focussed, closeup? If you can't read the pin #s, neither can we. We need to see all the wires. I know its a pain, but its hard to guess without clear shots. TY
It is across the c line
and it was always that way in the breadboard when you plugged it in ?
it was not still plugged inside the black foam some Arduino gets delivered with ?
No it stick it into the bb
may be you were unlucky and got a defective part... or your USB cable has a short
I used it before and it worked but I didn't tried uploading as I hit upload it burned
Yeah, with dims of breadboards (5 rows for .5") and Nano being .6", its not possible to cross short by not straddling the center. it won't insert that way. The gaps every 5 pins on the power side prevent shorting there too. Its all been thought out to prevent that.
I read online and this is a fairly common problem with nanos
According to the picture in post #28 your power lines connect to the right side of the board, while pins 5v and ground are on the left side
Is your picture is mirrored?
maybe@b707
how did you use it if you never uploaded code?
You're powering your IO device from the nano!
That's a big no-no.
Power the breadboard with a usb power module and then power both the nano AND your IO device SEPARATELY. DO NOT DRAW POWER FROM THE NANO!
Same for the Uno?@Madmark2150
I hit upload and it burned i never got a chance to use it
