I have downloaded a LCD4Bit_mod example software for a display device.
I have the following error message.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Arduino\libraries\LCD4Bit_mod\LCD4Bit_mod.cpp:29:57: error: WConstants.h: No such file or directory
I can’t fine the file WConstants.h any where. Can some one help me with this.
Read the how to use this forum sticky it tells you there.
Basically it is an old libary and needs to call up a different file to be compatable with the new arduino IDE.
A quick read through the comments in the LCD4bit code should convince you that the author really didn’t have a solid grasp of the topic. It appears that he wrote some code that worked with his particular display, that code got out on the web, and now we have to live with it in perpetuity. If I never heard about it again it would be too soon.
That LCD4Bit_mod stuff is really old. It hasn't been needed for quite some time.
My recommendation is to delete it and use the standard LiquidCrystal library
which supports 4 bit mode.
